ÉXODO
Performative audiovisual installation, duration: 15 min. Technique: projection, real-time visual management, execution and sound reproduction in quadraphony.
Éxodo is the installation presented by the B2R1 collective during the Wonderwood event, organized by the design furniture company Fabbro Arredi. Derived from the Hebrew word for "collective journey," Éxodo symbolizes a journey—an escape from alienation or oppression toward a hope of renewal and liberation. In this installation, the journey took on a metaphorical form, inviting the audience to reflect on themes of transition, change, and hope.
The performance took place at the heart of the carpentry workshop and featured a quadraphonic sound production along with graphic projections on a large screen. The space was divided into two sections by a curtain, which obscured the artists from direct view, allowing the audience to see them only through the projection of their shadows onto the fabric.
The spatial sound, created through quadraphonic speakers, combined industrial sounds recorded during the workshop's activities with live-played instruments. The visuals, manipulated in real-time, synced to the rhythm of the sound, crafting an immersive experience that transported the viewer into dystopian worlds.
